Google: Its been a great news for google users that it has increased the scalability and reliability with its new technology named as "Google Instant". It's is a new search enhancement that shows results as you type. We are pushing the limits of our technology and infrastructure to help you get better search results, faster. Our key technical insight was that people type slowly, but read quickly, typically taking 300 milliseconds between keystrokes, but only 30 milliseconds (a tenth of the time!) to glance at another part of the page. This means that you can scan a results page while you type, said Google.
The most obvious change is that you get to the right content much faster than before because you don’t have to finish typing your full search term, or even press “search.” Another shift is that seeing results as you type helps you formulate a better search term by providing instant feedback. You can now adapt your search on the fly until the results match exactly what you want. In time, we may wonder how search ever worked in any other way, Google added.

Mozilla: Today is a big day for Mozilla as new versions for their two popular applications Thunderbird and Firefox has been released today. So lets talk about Firefox, whats new in the latest beta. The add-on manager has been redesigned with a new color scheme. The functionality on the other hand seems to have remained the same. Still no option to search for and install add-ons from the manager.
Hardware acceleration should be enabled by now by default, at least on Windows. A new setting has been added to the browser’s options to disable hardware acceleration. you find it in Tools > Options > Advanced > Use Hardware Acceleration When Available.

To tem: Ubuntu comes with Totem, the standalone media player for linux platforms. Actually Totem comes with couple of plugins out of which one is for playing YouTube videos on the player. Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 comes with Totem Movie Player 2.30.1 where YouTube plug-in is already enabled by default. Watching YouTube videos on media player is a nice experience. After HTML5 inclusion in recent browsers like Chrome, this doesn’t matter a lot but yes, a new experience.
