Jagdalpur-Bijapur: Five Cops including three of BSF and from DF sacrificed their lives; and one sustained serious injuries in an encounter with the naxals in Kanker district. In Bijapur district Head Quarters, a head constable shot himself dead with his own service gun and in Dantewada district a Kotwar has been killed by naxals. All the trio instances are of today itself.

According to police, two platoons of BSF cop and 10 DF cops started from Durgukondal police station of Kanker district on joint patrolling towards Pakhanjoor. On their way near Bhaski forest, 7 kilometers away from police station the Maoists covered and started firing over cops from all the corners.

Jagdalpur: Four Maoists, having involvements in looting of Ammonium Nitrate truck load in May 2010 on National Highway 43 in Bhanpuri police station area, have been arrested by joint party of STF and Sierra-60 forces today in forest of village Kharpadi-Kormel under Bhanpuri police station of Bastar district. The arrestees bearing awards of rupees 4000/- each.

According to S. P. Bastar, Sundar Raaj P., the joint-force was deployed to forest of Kormel-Kharpadi on informations of nearby villages that maoists have camped in the area. The arrested Maoists bearing awards of rupees four thousands are Lacchhmu (26), Santu Ram (20),

Jagdalpur: In two different instances the maoists have killed three persons including parent of a constable in Bijapur district. According to police, the maoists abducted two tribals Laxmaiyya and Bairaiyya Rega, resident of Chintakonta village under Awapalli police outpost area on 23^rd August at Mid-Night hours. On very next day the bodies of both the abductees have been recovered on the road side with the hands tied with ropes. The deceased have been killed with certain sharp edged weapon.
