112 Persons Including 74 Police and 38 Civilians Killed by Naxals; 50 Naxals Killed By Police
The banned maoist naxals have killed 112 persons in last six months. In these naxal incidents, 74 police personnel and 38 villagers have lost their lives, and over a dozen armed have been snatched away by outlaws.
According to police, this year (past six months) 63 police personnel and 11 special police officers have been victimized of naxal violence. The police has succeeded to kill 52 naxals, it includes certain disputed encounters where the allegations over police has been raised that it has killed innocent villagers stating them naxals.
On April 10th 2009 at village Minpa under Chintagufa police station of Dantewada district in encounter with naxals while returning back after inspecting the polling centre, 10 CRPF cops including deputy commander Diwakar Tiwari sacrificed their lives. These cops too have killed 3 naxals in the said encounter.
On May 6th 2009, 11 persons including 2 CRPF cops , 5 SPO’s and 4 villagers had sacrificed their lives on Konta-Injerum road in naxal land-mine blast over a tractor.
On 7th May 2009, the SHO Pharasgaon of Narayanpur district, Wahid Khan has sacrificed his life, when the naxals attacked over him during his visit of Weekly market premises there.
On 10th May 2009, the cops approached Risgaon of Dhamtari district while patrolling in Kanker district territory were attacked over by the naxals with land-mine blasts claiming the lives of 13 cops.
There itself, on 7th June 2009, the convoy of S. P. Bijapur Ankit was also attacked over by naxals in which 4 cops of D. F. Had sacrificed their lives.
On 10th June 2009, in encounter between Gangaloor-Portuli road, villages of Bijapur district, the Assistant Commandant CRPF Rampal Singh has sacrificed his life.
On 19th June 2009, the naxals entered into the residence of Congress Leader involved in fake TATA compensation case, Vimal Meshram and shot him dead.
On 20th June 2009, For the first time, the naxals killed a gazzeted officer, D. P. Gandhi, SDO irrigation, posted in Bhopalpattnam of Bijapur district. In one more incident, at village Kokawada on Tongpal-Puspal road 11 CRPF cops have sacrificed their lives in a naxal land-mine blast over the truck upon which the cops were riding.
The police has claimed to kill 52 naxals during this period including the killing of 17 naxals in between Golapalli-Singarum in encounters. Similarly, the police has claimed to kill 7 naxals at Kokawada on Tongpal-Puspal road on 20th June 2009’s encounter. The CPI has stated all the 7 villagers killed their party workers and as a mark of protest against this fake encounter a community rally was organized there on 28th June.
In Bastar commissionarate region the naxals have set to fire 71 vehicles. On the other hand, the police has also recovered lot of arms, explosives, naxal literature, and has successfully demolished, a number of naxal camps.
