The preparations to start operation green-hunt and operation Godawari against the naxals is being taken up on war-footing level. Under it the construction agencies engaged in naxal affected areas of Bastar have been ordered confidentially to bind-up their works and have also been instructed to bring away their staff, machines and apparatus from the sensitive areas within scheduled time frame. The police head quarters have directed the S. P.’s of all the affected districts to conduct surveys of their areas. The villagers of sensitive villages are being shifted to secured places. The shifting of 39 persons belonging to 7 families of village Kosaronda in Bhanupratappur area of Kanker district to Bhanupratappur under strict security of police can be stated as initial state towards vacating the sensitive villages.
All the five S. P.’s of Bastar, have started functioning in accordance to the directives of the PHQ given on 12th June. However, the police is observing dense secrecacy about the steps being taken to facilitate the both the special anti-naxal operations. It is believed that these operations will be operative jointly by the C. G. and Orissa states. Over 4000 BSF, CRPF, COBRA, COMMANDO BATTALION and CAF cops have reached to the sensitive areas to handle the operation and operations are expected to take place after the rainy season is over.
